Los dirigidos por Héctor Chaparro buscan reivindicarse luego de la caída en Oberá para seguir entre los de arriba. La Franja llega con diez puntos, misma cantidad que los de Laguna Blanca, y al saber que Sol de América se llevó el triunfo frente a Sarmiento, otro con diez puntos, la victoria a San Martín lo ubicaría como único escolta de Patria.

El Franjeado no contará con: Ramón Franco, Cristian Coceres y Rene Bejarano. Franco alcanzó la quinta amarilla y tanto Coceres como Bejarano fueron expulsados ante Ex Alumnos, este ultimo sancionado con dos fechas, por esto el técnico se ve obligado a realizar modificaciones en la defensa para recibir a los lagunenses.
